Facilities Management at Bristol Hengrove Leisure Centre 


BPS provides a comprehensive hard FM service and building contracting at Bristol Hengrove Leisure Centre. Our on site team work closely with the client to ensure all their needs are met, minimising disruption to the client and their customers, whilst never compromising Health and Safety and always ensuring that an excellent level of service is provided.

Bristol Hengrove Leisure Centre is a £27 million pound state of the art local authority leisure centre. It was built in 2012 and is home to an Olympic sized 50 metre swimming pool, a 173 station gym, exercise studios, health suite and climbing wall. BPS successfully runs the hard FM services at this large and diverse site. Our on-site team provide general maintenance services as well as coordinate our mobile tradesmen and partner contractors to ensure work is always completed in a timely, compliant and minimally disruptive way, a vital service for our client.

Painting and Decorating at Tudor Grange

In 2016 BPS completed an extensive painting and decorating refurbishment of the reception, retail and other public areas at this busy leisure centre. With the obvious constraints of painting in a busy public area, our professional painters had to minimise disruption to the area whilst ensuring that the job was kept to a tight deadline. An excellent finish was achieved with zero snags, project costs within budget, and no requirement to close the area to customers, ensuring our clients needs were considered and met throughout the refurbishment.


Energy Improvement Project at Bicester Leisure Centre

In 2016 BPS undertook an energy improvement project at Bicester Leisure Centre. The project involved converting the lighting at the site from standard fittings to LEDs, reducing energy consumption and improving energy management. BPS planned and completed the project in a matter of weeks with over 150 light fittings replaced at the site. Our client and their customers were considered throughout the project, with upgrades being carried out in an organised and professional manner ensuring the facility could remain open with minimal disruption to the service, something that was extremely important to our client and their business.

The project ensured lighting lux levels were maintained at an equal or improved level whilst making dramatic improvements to the energy consumption at the site. The work completed by the BPS Electrical Team is predicted to save the client an estimated 85-90%. All the products used by BPS were given a 5 year guarantee, providing our client with further confidence and peace of mind.

24/7 Helpdesk for Two Leisure Centres in Norfolk


BPS provides a 24/7 help desk facility to all the sites we provide facilities management (FM) services to. Amongst many other sites, throughout 2016 BPS has provided this service to two leisure facilities in Norfolk. The service provides a portal for our clients to be able to contact BPS at any time of the day. Our CAFM (computer aided facility management) system allows both clients and the BPS team to provide feedback and real time assessment of the work that is required/ being completed. BPS staff working on the FM contracts ensure someone is always available on the end of the phone for those unforeseen emergencies, and our Facilities Coordinator works to manage the CAFM system and react to items promptly and proactively as they arise.

Our helpdesk ensures BPS respond in a professional and timely manner as directed by our clients in the service level agreement. We are able to match the service level we provide to the exact requirements of the client. This helpdesk facility has been vital to our client in Norfolk, with examples of 4 hourly responses to fire alarm issues and a contractor being called to site within the hour for a lift problem, our client can be confident that their facility remains complaint and their business runs smoothly.
